Maseru, Lesotho – On 28th June 2023, His Majesty King Letsie III conducted a formal commissioning ceremony at the Royal Palace in Maseru, appointing Mr. Matete ‘Nena as the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the United Nations in New York and Ms. Nts`iuoa Sekete as the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the African Union and Ambassador-designate to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Mr. Matete ‘Nena, an accomplished diplomat, has an impressive track record in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations. He has diligently served in various diplomatic roles, steadily rising through the ranks to his latest position as the Director of Asia and the Pacific Realm. His experience spans both domestic and international assignments.
Ms. Nts`iuoa Sekete brings her extensive expertise in media and public relations to her new role. With over two decades of experience in the field, she has built a stellar reputation as a dedicated Media Practitioner. Her career commenced at Lesotho T V, and she most recently held the position of Senior Media and Communications Officer for the Pan African Parliament (PAP) in Midrand, Republic of South Africa.
