Dubai, UAE – Emirates announced the much-anticipated return of daily flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, starting November 4, 2024. This addition complements their existing daily A380 service to Glasgow, offering a total of 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Scotland.
Passengers on the Dubai-Edinburgh route will experience a comfortable journey aboard the Emirates A350-900 aircraft. This modern plane features a three-class configuration with 32 lie-flat Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy Class seats. Flight EK23 departs Dubai at 2:50 PM, arriving in Edinburgh at 7:05 PM local time. The return flight, EK24, departs Edinburgh at 8:40 PM and arrives in Dubai at 8:05 AM the following day.
This isn’t Emirates’ first foray into Edinburgh. They previously served the route in 2018 with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline’s return signifies their commitment to Scotland and reflects the growing demand for travel between the region and Dubai.
The new service also benefits cargo businesses. Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s dedicated cargo arm, can now uplift 16 tonnes of cargo per flight on the Edinburgh route. This additional capacity will support local businesses, strengthen trade links with global markets, and facilitate the export of popular goods.
Edinburgh becomes Emirates’ eighth destination in the United Kingdom. The airline currently operates 133 weekly flights across seven other UK gateways – London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Glasgow.
