Starting April 1, 2025, U.S. citizens traveling to Namibia will need to secure a visa before entering the country, according to an update from the U.S. Mission in Namibia.
Travelers are advised to apply in advance using Namibia’s official online visa portal, available at eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/visaonarrival. Those using the system must print and carry a physical copy of their visa approval notice when traveling.
For visitors arriving at major entry points such as Windhoek, Walvis Bay, or high-traffic land borders like Katima Mulilo and Ngoma, visas will still be available for purchase upon arrival. However, as Namibia’s visa-on-arrival system is newly introduced, procedural changes may occur.
