The Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (DTIC) has launched the Business Visa Recommendation System (VRS), a digital platform designed to streamline business visa applications for foreign investors.
Effective immediately, the VRS replaces the previous email-based application process, offering a faster, more transparent, and user-friendly system for business visa recommendations, including first-time applications, extensions, and permanent residence requests.
Acting Deputy Director-General for Investment and Spatial Industrial Development, Yunus Hoosen, stated that the platform enhances efficiency by reducing administrative delays and ensuring complete submissions. It also allows real-time tracking of applications, automated notifications, and direct document uploads.
The VRS is part of South Africa’s broader digital transformation agenda, aimed at improving access to government services and fostering a more business-friendly environment. The system is expected to simplify investment procedures for foreign entrepreneurs looking to establish or expand operations in the country.
Applicants can now access the platform at https://vrs.thedtic.gov.za.
