Vice President of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has called on the Council of State to move beyond an advisory role and actively shape national policies. Delivering the opening address at the Council’s orientation, she said meaningful dialogue is necessary to address Ghana’s challenges and strengthen the institution’s role in governance.
She noted that the public expects more from the Council and stressed the need for a collective approach to meet those expectations. She also urged the body to conduct research that identifies policy gaps and aligns with former President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to reset the country’s direction.
Opoku-Agyemang further called on the Council to play a key role in constitutional reforms, contributing to a national framework for sustainable development.
