Monrovia – The government of Liberia has commissioned Baba Sillah as Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Johnnie F. Fallah as Consul General at the Liberian Consulate in Dakhla, Morocco.
Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti led the commissioning ceremony on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., stressing the importance of these appointments in advancing Liberia’s global engagements.
Sillah will represent Liberia at the United Nations, playing a key role in diplomatic relations and advocating for national interests. Fallah’s assignment in Dakhla is expected to strengthen Liberia-Morocco ties and create economic and trade opportunities.
Nyanti commended both diplomats for their previous service and urged them to remain committed to Liberia’s foreign policy. She reiterated that the ARREST AGENDA is the framework guiding the country’s diplomatic efforts, with a focus on economic diplomacy to create jobs and drive sustainable development.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Deweh E. Gray, who oversees the Foreign Service, said these appointments align with Liberia’s goals for economic growth and international collaboration. She described Fallah’s role in Dakhla as key to strengthening ties with Morocco and expressed confidence in Sillah’s ability to represent Liberia at the UN.
At the ceremony, Fallah thanked President Boakai, Nyanti, and the Ministry for the opportunity. He pledged to enhance economic and business ties between Liberia and Morocco.
Sillah also expressed gratitude to the president and assured Nyanti of his commitment to his new responsibilities. He stressed the Foreign Service’s role in advancing Liberia’s interests in health, education, and agriculture.
