Maseru, Lesotho – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Hon. Lejone Mpotjoana, met with Mr. Thomas Hines, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. and Deputy Head of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Lesotho, on January 31, 2025, at the Qhobosheaneng Government Complex.
The discussions focused on diplomatic relations between Lesotho and the United States, which date back to 1966. The United States is one of the few countries with a resident diplomatic mission in Lesotho and remains a key economic and political partner.
The two officials reviewed cooperation in economic development and governance. The United States plays a significant role in trade and development initiatives in Lesotho.
