Tokyo, Japan – August 24, 2024 – Japan’s Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, met with her Central African Republic counterpart, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
Minister Kamikawa commended the Central African Republic’s efforts to achieve domestic peace and expressed hope for a successful outcome in the upcoming local elections. She emphasized the importance of the country’s stability for the overall stability and integration of the Central African region.
Japan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Central African Republic’s development and peacebuilding efforts. Minister Kamikawa conveyed Japan’s willingness to continue providing assistance to the country.
Minister Baïpo-Temon thanked Japan for its support and outlined the challenges faced by the Central African Republic, including the need for regional cooperation and reforms.
The two ministers agreed to further deepen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation ahead of the upcoming TICAD 9 conference.
