Brooklyn, New York – Nigerian-born, Johannesburg-based musician DrFelix delivered an unforgettable performance at the prestigious International African Arts Festival in Brooklyn, New York. Taking the stage on July 6th at 5.30 pm EST, DrFelix, backed by his nine-piece band, ignited the crowd with an hour-long set of pulsating Afrobeat and soulful Highlife.
The energy was electric as DrFelix launched into his set with “Ori Mi Ye,” setting the tone for an evening of pure musical joy. Tracks like “Fakky Crazy World” and “N.D.D (Na Dem Dem)” showcased the band’s tight musicianship and Dr. Felix’s captivating vocals.
The tempo shifted as Dr. Felix dipped into his Highlife repertoire with “Ayanfe” and “Aye,” showcasing his versatility as a musician. He then surprised the audience with a selection of well-known Highlife covers in “Time for Highlife” and “Oni Dodo,” further demonstrating his deep musical wellspring.

The crowd’s reaction reflected DrFelix’s captivating performance. Fans clamored for more, their enthusiasm evident throughout the set. After the show, DrFelix connected with his fans, engaging in conversation and signing copies of his critically acclaimed album, “AYANFE.”
