KIGALI, June 13 – Rwanda has appointed Yusuf Murangwa as its new finance minister and Olivier Nduhungirehe as the new foreign minister, Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente announced on Wednesday. These changes come as the country prepares for its presidential election on July 15.
Murangwa, previously the director-general of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda, replaces Uzziel Ndagijimana, though the statement did not specify Ndagijimana’s new role. Nduhungirehe, formerly Rwanda’s ambassador to the Netherlands, will replace the current foreign minister, who will move to the interior ministry.
The announcement also included new appointments for the ministers of public service and labor, gender and family promotion, and the environment.
