Accra, Ghana – Mexico’s Ambassador to Ghana, Norma Ang Sanchez, recently met with officials from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) to explore avenues for strengthening trade and investment ties between the two nations.
Yaw Afriyie, Deputy CEO of the GIPC, welcomed Ambassador Sanchez and acknowledged the positive strides made by her predecessor, Enrique Escorza, in fostering investment into Africa. He expressed optimism that Ambassador Sanchez would continue these efforts, particularly in areas where Mexico holds significant expertise, such as oil and gas, agriculture, and tourism.
This meeting builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year between the GIPC and Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior (COMCE), the Mexican private sector organization promoting foreign trade, investment, and technological development. The MoU established a framework for attracting and facilitating Mexican investment in Ghana, paving the way for a more robust economic partnership.
