Abu Dhabi’s non-oil exports to Poland skyrocketed by 253% in 2023, a testament to the success of efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two nations. This positive trend was further bolstered by the recent 2nd Business Forum held in Poland’s Silesia Region.

The forum brought together government officials and industry leaders from both sides, fostering discussions on collaboration in key sectors like renewable energy, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure. Participants explored potential joint ventures, solidifying the belief in the vast potential for cooperation.

Abu Dhabi highlighted its industrial strengths and investment opportunities through the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy’s programs and incentives. This provided valuable insights for Polish businesses seeking partnerships and investment opportunities in the Emirate.

Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED, emphasized the forum’s significance in strengthening relations and charting a path towards a “more prosperous future” for both nations. He underscored the commitment to fostering “lasting economic ties” through collaboration.

Building on this momentum, ADDED and the Silesia Region signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year to further develop economic, industrial, and trade ties.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) also played a key role, underlining its dedication to bolstering bilateral relations. Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the ADCCI, highlighted the forum’s role in facilitating communication, knowledge sharing, and building direct partnerships. He emphasized Poland’s importance as a trade partner and the Chamber’s commitment to making Abu Dhabi “the first choice for doing business in the MENA region by 2025.”

Dr. Ali Husain Makki, Executive Director of Logistics and Trade Facilitation Sector at ADDED, pointed to the numerous initiatives undertaken to streamline trade and attract investment. These efforts, he noted, have resulted in a “remarkable rise” in new businesses and investments.
