Mbabane, Eswatini – Four Eswatini students have been selected for the prestigious Pan-African Youth Leadership Program (PAYLP) and arrived in the United States over the weekend to begin a life-changing experience.

Nthato Nxumalo (St. Michaels High School), Anyandziswa Gama (St. Marks High School), Mayenziwe Gama (Waterford Kamhlaba United College), and their mentor Siboniso Sihlongonyane (SAIM Christian High School) were chosen for the program, which is sponsored by the U.S. government.

Over the next three weeks, the Eswatini delegation will travel across the United States, visiting Georgia, Vermont, and Washington D.C. Throughout their journey, they will participate in cultural excursions, leadership and service workshops, interactive conflict resolution training, presentations, and visits to high schools.

A core aspect of PAYLP is empowering participants to develop community-based projects upon their return home. These projects are designed to create positive change and address local needs within their communities in Eswatini.

The U.S. Embassy in Eswatini congratulated the students on their selection and wished them all the best for a successful and enriching program.
