ACCRA, June 6, 2023 – The volume of trade between Ghana and Bulgaria has surged by over 140% in recent years, with Ghana benefiting from a favorable balance of trade. In a sign of their commitment to further deepen relations, the two countries came together on Tuesday to mark the commencement of a protocol for the establishment of bilateral consultations. The signing ceremony, held in Accra, aimed to foster mutual benefits for both nations.

Representing the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, signed the protocol. On behalf of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Yanko Vasilev Yordanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ghana, affixed his signature. Furthermore, the Ambassador stated that Bulgarian agricultural universities were prepared to collaborate with their Ghanaian counterparts by sharing knowledge and expertise, thereby promoting the development of Ghana’s agricultural sector.

The signing of this protocol between Ghana and Bulgaria signals a promising era of increased trade and closer collaboration. With the trade volume already surging by over 140% in recent years, the balance of trade in favor of Ghana underscores the potential for further growth and mutual benefits. The renewed commitment to cooperation in areas such as Agriculture, Manufacturing, Education, Health, Technology, and Energy paves the way for a more robust and fruitful partnership between the two countries.

As Ghana continues to position itself as an attractive destination for foreign investment, Bulgarian investors are encouraged to explore the numerous opportunities that the country offers. Similarly, the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Bulgarian and Ghanaian agricultural universities holds the promise of significant advancements in the agricultural sector, benefiting both nations.
