Mansour bin Zayed: UEFA 2023 Champions League win sets standard for future successes

ABU DHABI, 10th June, 2023 – His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, as well as the owner of the City Football Group, extended his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Manchester City fans and everyone associated with the club for their outstanding achievement in winning their first-ever Champions League title.

Expressing his joy, Sheikh Mansour stated, “We will continue to define and celebrate our success together. Winning the UEFA 2023 Champions League title represents our long-term ambition to become one of the world’s leading football clubs. It sets a standard for our future triumphs.”

Sheikh Mansour expressed his appreciation to the loyal and passionate Manchester City fans who stood by the team throughout their journey, culminating in their decisive victory over Inter Milan in the final match held at the AtatĂĽrk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

He emphasized, “Today’s victory is the result of a deliberate strategy that was formulated 15 years ago. We remain committed to our ambition of being one of the most competitive football clubs globally.”

Highlighting that the UEFA Champions League title signifies a milestone rather than the end of a journey, Sheikh Mansour emphasized that this achievement is a testament to the club’s continuous pursuit of sustainable and historic success, ensuring that City fans can relish in it for years to come.

Sheikh Mansour commended the effectiveness and dedication of the club’s management, led by Chairman of the Board Khaldoon Al Mubarak, for their instrumental role in guiding the club’s progress. He also praised the technical staff, led by coach Pep Guardiola, as well as every member of the City organization who tirelessly contributed throughout the season.

Expressing his gratitude, Sheikh Mansour extended his appreciation to the fans of Manchester City around the world, recognizing their significant contribution to the team’s triumph. He acknowledged them as some of the best fans in the world of sports.

Demonstrating his commitment to surpassing the expectations of the club’s supporters, Sheikh Mansour emphasized that the fans provide inspiration and motivation for the club to achieve even more each season, as they follow their carefully planned development strategy.

Sheikh Mansour conveyed his thanks to the Republic of TĂĽrkiye for hosting the UEFA Champions League final and ensuring its seamless and secure execution. He also expressed gratitude to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for their excellent organization of the championship, extending his best wishes for their continued success in the development of European football. Additionally, he praised Inter Milan for their competitive spirit and wished them ongoing success in the upcoming season.
