MBABANE – The Ministry of Education and Training in Eswatini and the Japanese Embassy have formalized an agreement for the construction of an Agriculture Laboratory at Mhlumeni High School in the Lubombo Region.
Lungelo Nhlengetfwa, the Ministry’s Under Secretary for Schools, signed the agreement on behalf of the Principal Secretary, while Counsellor Andoi Kei represented the Japanese Embassy.
Nhlengetfwa thanked the Japanese Embassy for its Grassroots Project, which has contributed significantly to improving infrastructure in local schools. He mentioned that various schools have benefitted from projects that introduced facilities like Consumer Science, Science, and ICT Laboratories.
He also pointed out the importance of the Agriculture Laboratory for Mhlumeni High School, which opened in 2022. The new facility will help students gain agricultural skills and allow the school to introduce Agriculture as a subject.
Martin Surtee, the headteacher of Mhlumeni High, signed the agreement on behalf of the school.
