Mbabane, Eswatini – The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has introduced the Eswatini Labour Migration Policy, aiming to protect Emaswati seeking employment abroad.
Labour Minister Phila Buthelezi launched the policy on March 6, 2025, outlining its goal to regulate labour migration and ensure the safety and fair treatment of migrant workers. The policy seeks to address challenges faced by those working overseas and aims to provide secure and dignified work opportunities for Emaswati beyond the country’s borders.
The policy is focused on strengthening protections for migrant workers, promoting structured migration, and reducing the risks of exploitation in foreign job markets. It is also intended to enhance Eswatini’s economic growth through the support of Emaswati workers abroad.
