On February 27, 2025, Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, welcomed His Excellency Johan Hallenborg, the Swedish Ambassador to Zambia, and Her Excellency Saana Halinen, the Finnish Ambassador to Zambia, at Charter House in Lusaka.

The meeting focused on regional peace and security, with Hon. Haimbe reaffirming Zambia’s ongoing commitment to peace in line with the country’s Foreign Policy. The discussion also included preparations for the upcoming Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (NAF 2025), which will be held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. As part of the lead-up to the summit, the five Nordic Foreign Ministers, accompanied by a business delegation, will visit Zambia to engage with key stakeholders and government officials.

Ambassador Halinen also provided details on the Finland Business Week (FinnBizWeek), scheduled for March 17-18, 2025, in Lusaka. The event is aimed at strengthening economic ties and fostering partnerships between Zambia and Finland.

Further discussions included the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Future Forum, set to take place from April 1-3, 2025, in Lusaka. This high-level event will bring together various stakeholders to explore solutions to enhance the resilience of LDCs.
