On February 25, 2025, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, received Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Manish Gupta, for a courtesy call at the Ministry. The meeting focused on strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
H.E. Gupta reaffirmed India’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly through the International Big Cat Alliance, which India leads. He also proposed reviving the India-Ghana Permanent Joint Consultative Committee (PJCC) and continuing engagement with the Trade Committee. Gupta further discussed India’s continued support for scholarships for Ghanaians in fields such as STEM, finance, health sciences, and technical education.
Hon. Ablakwa welcomed the idea of joining the International Big Cat Alliance, recognizing the importance of wildlife conservation, and expressed his support for the revival of the PJCC. He also thanked India for its scholarship programs, which play a vital role in developing Ghana’s workforce.
