The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Ghana has responded to public complaints about the treatment of Ghanaian citizens at foreign missions when applying for visas. The complaints include poor waiting conditions, lack of emergency services, long delays in appointment scheduling, and difficulties with visa application websites.
To address these concerns, the Ministry has sent a Note Verbale to all Embassies and High Commissions, urging them to improve the conditions at their visa centres. The Ministry expects the foreign missions to make necessary adjustments to provide a more comfortable and efficient experience for applicants.
While acknowledging that foreign missions have the right to decide who receives visas, the Ministry has assured the public that it will continue to monitor compliance with the new guidelines.
