Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema concluded his state visit to Egypt with a tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the last surviving wonders of the ancient world. The pyramids, built nearly 5,000 years ago, continue to stand as a testament to Egypt’s remarkable history and engineering.
During the visit, President Hichilema expressed Zambia’s interest in learning from Egypt’s success in preserving these historic landmarks while utilizing them for tourism. He praised the ingenuity and vision of the ancient Egyptians, drawing comparisons to the modern infrastructure projects underway in Egypt, including the construction of a new administrative capital in Cairo.
Zambia plans to implement similar infrastructure projects with Egypt’s collaboration, and agreements were signed during the visit to help realize these ambitions. The state visit has also opened new opportunities for cooperation in agriculture, tourism, energy, and infrastructure development.
