Kenya has played a central role in resolving conflicts across Africa, President William Samoei Ruto said after meeting European Union Special Envoy to the Great Lakes Region Johan Borgstam and EU Ambassador to Kenya Henriette Geiger at State House, Nairobi.
He noted that Kenya has a long history of providing expertise, skills, and resources to mediate complex crises on the continent. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are working together to push for peace and stability.
Ruto said Kenya fully supports the resolutions of the Joint Summit of the EAC-SADC and the African Union Peace and Security Council, which call for dialogue as the solution to the ongoing crisis.
