HRH Prince Lonkhokhela, Eswatini’s Minister for Natural Resources and Energy, met with Ikechi Okorie, the World Bank Resident Representative, to discuss ongoing initiatives to improve access to energy and water in the country.
During the meeting, Prince Lonkhokhela expressed his gratitude for the World Bank’s support in enhancing potable water supply and energy access. While acknowledging progress, he stressed the need for continued support to achieve universal access to energy and water by 2030.
The Minister also welcomed the approval of the ASCENT project by the World Bank, which aims to advance energy access in Eswatini. Okorie reiterated the Bank’s commitment to assisting with the implementation of these key energy and water projects.
