Ethiopian Finance Minister Ahmed Shide is leading a high-level delegation on a visit to China from January 20 to 25, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between the two nations.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with major financial and infrastructure institutions, including the International Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), China Development Bank (CDB), China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), and the Exim Bank of China. The discussions centered on expanding economic collaboration, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, investment, and trade.
The visit comes amid Ethiopia’s ongoing macroeconomic reforms, which have created favorable conditions for deeper partnerships with international players like China. The goal is to reinforce the robust strategic partnership that has long existed between the two countries, with a focus on enhancing mutual economic growth.
