PHONJWANE, Eswatini – The newly installed solar water pumping system in Phonjwane is transforming lives, providing clean water to approximately 600 homesteads and reducing costs for the community. Funded by the Rural Electrification Access Fund, the solar-powered system has replaced the previous electricity-driven pump, alleviating the financial burden on residents who previously had to purchase electricity units to access water.
The Select Committee on Rural Electrification (SCORE) visited the Phonjwane water scheme today to assess the system’s progress and performance.
Officials lauded the initiative as part of His Majesty’s Government’s broader efforts to improve access to essential resources in underserved areas.
