President Hakainde Hichilema hosted a farewell meeting at State House for the outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Zambia, Her Excellency Istem Circiroglu. The meeting recognized the ambassador’s contributions and reaffirmed the strong diplomatic ties between Zambia and Turkey.
President Hichilema highlighted the foundation of the bilateral relationship, citing shared democratic principles, good governance, and mutual respect for human rights. He also noted Turkey’s growing influence in Africa through trade and investment and its alignment with Zambia’s economic priorities.
The President expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for supporting Zambia’s development in key sectors, including health, tourism, education, and media.
