Somalia marked the 25th anniversary of the East African Community (EAC) with a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation headquarters in Mogadishu. The event gathered key stakeholders to commemorate the milestone and Somalia’s role within the regional bloc.
The celebration was attended by Permanent Secretary His Excellency Hamza Haadow, the Director of EAC Economic Integration, ministry directors, representatives of the Somali business community, civil society leaders, and university students. Members of the public also joined the event, showcasing broad participation.
Speeches and discussions during the event reflected Somalia’s commitment to EAC values, including unity, cooperation, and development, while emphasizing the country’s engagement in regional integration efforts.
