Botswana’s President, Advocate Duma Boko, led the “Doing Business in Botswana” Dialogue in Brussels, urging European investors to explore opportunities in the country’s growing sectors. The event, hosted by the Botswana Embassy in Belgium in partnership with the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), was attended by senior government officials and business leaders.
President Boko presented investment prospects in key industries such as mining, agriculture, healthcare, and ICT. He stressed the importance of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in driving economic growth, competitiveness, and job creation. “FDI is essential for advancing our development and ensuring a prosperous future for both investors and our nation,” he said.
Boko also highlighted Botswana’s political stability, favorable business environment, and its strategic location at the heart of Southern Africa as attractive factors for potential investors. He assured attendees that Botswana’s embassies and BITC are equipped to support investors in navigating the country’s market.
Minister of International Relations, Dr. Phenyo Butale, reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that protects the interests of investors and partners. He also invited the European business community to join Botswana in building a sustainable future.
