Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, held introductory meetings on November 26, 2024, with the Ambassadors-Designate of Mauritania and Israel at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia. The meetings precede the presentation of their Letters of Credence to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, marking a significant step in Liberia’s diplomatic relations.
Minister Nyanti first met with Mohamed Abdellahi Khattra, Mauritania’s Ambassador-Designate. She spoke positively of the long-standing relationship between the two countries and expressed Liberia’s commitment to strengthening ties in areas of mutual benefit.
Following this, Minister Nyanti welcomed Roey Gilad, the Ambassador-Designate of Israel. Their discussions focused on Liberia’s historical support for Israel, particularly in the establishment of the state. They also explored opportunities for increased collaboration in trade, education, and climate diplomacy. Minister Nyanti mentioned Israel’s earlier contribution to the construction of Liberia’s Executive Mansion and expressed hope for continued Israeli support in its renovation.
The Foreign Minister assured both ambassadors of her full cooperation in their diplomatic missions and support for their roles in Liberia.
