Hamburg, Germany – October 18, 2024 – The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission was represented at the Sustainability Conference held in Hamburg, Germany, from October 7th to 8th, 2024.
The conference brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including heads of state, private sector leaders, academics, civil society representatives, and international organizations. The event served as a platform for discussing issues related to the governance of international organizations and business approaches to sustainable development.
With the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda halfway through, the Hamburg conference aimed to create a new global platform to accelerate SDG implementation and showcase results-oriented solutions.
The ECOWAS Commission delegation, led by Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Massandjé TOU-RE-LITSE, participated in various conference sessions and discussions. Other members of the delegation included Dr. Dédou Pagnamsi HEMOU, Permanent Representative of ECOWAS to the European Union, Mr. Yao Bernard KOFFI, Acting Director of Environment and Natural Resources, and Mr. DIABATE Bazoumana, Executive Assistant to the Commissioner.
