NEW YORK – Zambia’s Foreign Minister, Mulambo Haimbe, has met with representatives of the American Jewish Community to discuss strengthening ties between the two nations and with Israel. During the meeting, the American Jewish Community expressed a keen interest in visiting Zambia as part of their post-COVID mission to Africa.
The American Jewish Community conveyed their desire to counter negative stereotypes of Africa in the United States and explore potential areas of collaboration in Zambia, particularly in agriculture, health, and energy.
Minister Haimbe warmly welcomed the initiative and highlighted the strong historical relationship between Zambia and Israel. He emphasized that the visit would further solidify these ties.
The Minister also provided an update on the Lobito Corridor Project, a significant infrastructure development initiative, and invited the American Jewish Community to consider investing in Zambia’s value-addition industries.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the meeting and expressed a commitment to continued collaboration in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering new partnerships.
