Taba, Egypt – A violent altercation erupted in the Egyptian resort town of Taba on Friday, leaving three Arab Israeli tourists and two Egyptian hotel staff injured.
According to Egyptian security sources, the incident began when an Israeli tourist verbally insulted an Egyptian employee. The altercation quickly escalated into a physical fight, involving other tourists and hotel staff.
Egypt’s state-run Al-Qahera News reported that one of the injured Egyptian workers sustained serious injuries. The channel also indicated that the fight may have been triggered by a dispute over payment for hotel services.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war on October 7, there have been sporadic attacks targeting Israelis in Egypt. One such incident occurred just days after the war began, when two Israeli tourists and their Egyptian guide were fatally shot by a police officer in Alexandria.
