Somali FM, OIC Chief Discuss Boosting Cooperation

Jeddah, August 7, 2024 – Somali Foreign Minister H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed met with OIC Secretary-General Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha on Wednesday, focusing on enhancing cooperation between Somalia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The talks occurred during the extraordinary meeting of the OIC Executive Committee in Jeddah.

The discussions centered on increasing coordination and joint initiatives. Minister Ahmed Fiqi updated Secretary-General Taha on Somalia’s recent political, economic, humanitarian, and security developments.

Secretary-General Taha praised the Somali government’s efforts toward development, stability, and counterterrorism. He assured the OIC’s continued support for Somalia’s strategic goals and collaborative projects.
