Maseru, Lesotho – Lesotho Prime Minister Sam Ntsokoane Matekane has lauded the outgoing Finnish Ambassador, Raija Anne Lammila, for her significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a statement released on August 2, Prime Minister Matekane highlighted the success of King Letsie III’s visit to Finland in June as a testament to the growing partnership. Key areas of cooperation identified include water infrastructure, digitalization of water systems, and renewable energy.
The Prime Minister expressed optimism about the implementation of agreements signed during the King’s visit, particularly the Letter of Intent for enhancing water infrastructure and the Framework Agreement under Finland’s Public Sector Investment Facility.
The European Union, in a separate statement, joined in acknowledging Ambassador Lammila’s contributions and expressed enthusiasm for the future of Lesotho-Finland cooperation, especially in water management, renewable energy, and climate-smart agriculture.
