President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia swore in new members to the Judicial Complaints Commission and the Anti-Corruption Commission Board on Friday, June 28, 2024, highlighting the urgency of judicial efficiency and unity.

Mr. Kephas Kampamba Katongo and Ms. Eva Jhala joined the Judicial Complaints Commission, while Mr. Jack Kalala was appointed to the Anti-Corruption Commission Board. President Hichilema emphasized, “Justice delayed is justice denied,” and called for a unified judiciary to better serve citizens.

The president addressed concerns about prolonged detentions in Correctional Services facilities, expressing hope that the enhanced judicial operations would rectify these issues. He urged the families of the new appointees to support them in their public duties.

In his speech, President Hichilema thanked the parliament for ratifying the nominations, facilitating the appointments. He concluded by congratulating the new officers and invoking blessings for the country.
