Lagos, Nigeria – June 19, 2024

A wave of Nigerian animation talent has returned home after a successful showing at the prestigious Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy. Over 20 Nigerian animation studios participated in the event, showcasing their projects and breathtaking works of art to the world.

This year marked a particularly fruitful outing for the Nigerian contingent. Five studios were selected for the Partners Pitch program, where they presented their projects to a panel of over 90 industry professionals. This unique opportunity allows budding animators to connect with established talent and forge collaborations that can elevate their work to the global stage.

The French Embassy in Nigeria (Ambassade de France au Nigéria) has been a staunch supporter of Nigerian animation for the past four years. Their continued efforts have been instrumental in facilitating connections between Nigerian storytellers and the international animation community.
