Johannesburg, South Africa – Zambian businesses are aiming to expand their reach in the Southern African market, with a strong showing at the recent Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) 2024.
H.E. Ms. Mazuba Monze, Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, met with Zambian entrepreneurs participating in SAITEX, highlighting the importance of the event for boosting exports and forging partnerships.
“SAITEX provides a valuable platform for Zambian manufacturers to secure export deals and establish vital market connections,” Ms. Monze said. “This not only increases the visibility and demand for Zambian products, but also contributes to the growth of our export sector.”
The High Commissioner emphasized the multifaceted nature of Zambia’s participation in SAITEX. The focus lies on introducing Zambian entrepreneurs to the South African business environment, facilitating market entry, and fostering business-to-business connections.
“This exhibition creates a space for knowledge sharing, exploring new market opportunities, and building meaningful business connections,” said Faith Kabende, a fashion designer part of the Zambian delegation. Ms. Kabende expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and her excitement to collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs.
The strategic decision by ZDA to lead six Zambian enterprises to SAITEX underscores the commitment to strengthening trade relations with South Africa. This collaboration paves the way for increased economic cooperation and growth across the region.
The Zambian delegation showcased a diverse range of products and services, highlighting the country’s strong economic potential. SAITEX, a leading regional trade exhibition, offers a dynamic platform for businesses to connect with local and international networks, explore innovative offerings, and address specific business needs.
