Juba, South Sudan – June 3, 2024 – South Sudan and India pledged to strengthen their bilateral ties during a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Monday Semaya Kumba and Indian Ambassador Vishnu Kumar Sharma.
The discussion focused on areas for collaboration, with Deputy Minister Kumba expressing gratitude for India’s scholarship programs for South Sudanese students. He also committed to accelerating progress on outstanding matters, including a potential memorandum of understanding in the health sector.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Sharma spoke to the media, highlighting India’s ongoing capacity building programs in South Sudan. He described the meeting with Deputy Minister Kumba as a “comprehensive” discussion, marking their first official interaction.
