SOWETO, SOUTH AFRICA – On Wednesday morning, President Cyril Ramaphosa, accompanied by First Lady Dr. Tshepo Motsepe, cast his vote in Chiawelo, Soweto. The event drew significant media attention and a strong security presence as the president participated in the democratic process.
Ramaphosa expressed satisfaction with the organization of the voting procedures. “I am very delighted to be here, of course with my wife, to come and vote in the township where I grew up, with the permission of the IEC [Electoral Commission of South Africa]. So it’s wonderful to arrive here to meet so many people who are coming to vote,” he remarked.
His presence, alongside Dr. Motsepe, aimed to encourage voter turnout and demonstrate confidence in the electoral system.
