Kenya’s President William Samoei Ruto, Ph.D, has called on Kenyans living abroad to join hands in fostering the nation’s growth. Speaking at the Diaspora Tech Investment Expo and Engagement held at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, Georgia, President Ruto urged the diaspora community to collaborate in propelling Kenya to new heights.
During his address, which took place amid his state visit to the United States at the invitation of President Joe Biden, Ruto highlighted the advanced stage of Kenya’s economic transformation. He noted that this progress presents vast investment opportunities across various sectors. To support and safeguard diaspora investments, the President announced plans to establish a diaspora board.
The event, organized by the Department for Diaspora Affairs, saw President Ruto accompanied by a delegation including First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto, Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Ms. Roseline Njogu, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Minister of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Council of Governors Chairperson Anne Waiguru, National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wa, and other high-ranking government officials.
