Rabat, Morocco – May 24, 2024 – Zambia’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, met with his Moroccan counterpart, H.E. Mr. Nasser Bourita, in Rabat on Wednesday. The fruitful discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for expanded cooperation across various sectors.

The Zambian Minister reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to Morocco’s territorial integrity, a key point in the discussions. He further expressed Zambia’s support for the ongoing efforts by the United Nations to find a lasting solution to the Western Sahara issue.

The Moroccan Minister warmly welcomed Zambia’s position, highlighting the positive and longstanding relationship between the two nations.

Building on this positive momentum, both Ministers agreed to operationalize the Roadmap of Cooperation signed in 2023, which outlines a strategic framework for collaboration between Zambia and Morocco for the period 2023-2025. They urged senior officials from both countries to work together to develop concrete implementation plans.
