Johannesburg, South Africa – South Africa’s infectious amapiano anthem “Tshwala Bam” by TitoM and Yuppe has received a star-studded makeover with the release of a remix featuring Nigerian superstar Burna Boy.
The original song, released in February, quickly became a continental smash, racking up over 100 million streams. This new version promises to further propel the track to international heights, blending Burna Boy’s signature sound with the original’s infectious energy.
“Tshwala Bam” remix sees Burna Boy seamlessly weaving his playful confidence into the existing sonic tapestry. His opening verse, brimming with self-assured swagger, sets the tone for the remix. Burna Boy boasts over the stripped-down beat, declaring himself the “Greatest of all time.”
This collaboration isn’t Burna Boy’s first foray into remixing established hits. He’s previously lent his voice to remixes of “Jerusalema” by Master KG, “Sungba” by Asake, and “Yaba Buluku” by DJ Tarico, all of which achieved remarkable success. The hope is that “Tshwala Bam (Remix)” will follow suit.
Burna Boy himself expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Jumping on the ‘Tshwala Bam’ remix was a no-brainer. It’s a track that resonates with everyone, and I’m thrilled to bring my energy to it and connect with fans in a whole new way.”
The South African duo behind the original song, TitoM and Yuppe, were equally excited about the collaboration. TitoM explained, “We wanted someone with global appeal who could also elevate the original vibe. Burna Boy was the perfect fit.” Yuppe echoed this sentiment, describing the experience as “nerve-wracking and exhilarating,” praising Burna Boy’s collaborative spirit.
