During the US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas, US Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, the Permanent Representative to the United Nations, made a diplomatic call on Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.
In their meeting, Ambassador Greenfield lauded President Boakai’s proactive stance against crime and corruption in the region. She commended his recent initiatives, including the audit of key government departments such as the Ministry of Justice and the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court through Executive Order #131.
Expressing concern over Liberia’s existing challenges, Ambassador Greenfield stressed the vital need to fortify democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and root out corruption. She assured President Boakai of the United States’ unwavering support in addressing these mutual concerns.
