Google for Startups is launching a new initiative, the Growth Academy: AI for Education program. This program aims to equip education technology (EdTech) startups with the tools and knowledge they need to build innovative learning solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“AI has the potential to revolutionize education,” says the announcement. “From personalized learning experiences to improved communication between teachers and parents, AI can bridge critical gaps in the education system.”

The three-month program will offer founders and their teams a comprehensive learning experience. Participants can expect tailored workshops, mentorship from industry experts, and networking opportunities. While there will be two in-person sessions, the majority of the program will be conducted virtually, allowing for broader participation from startups across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The program’s potential is evident in the success stories of existing Google Cloud for EdTech partners. Kwame AI, a mobile teaching assistant powered by AI, serves as a prime example. Since its launch in 2022, Kwame AI has helped over 2,300 students in 110 countries learn to code on their phones.

“Google’s expertise in AI and their dedication to educational innovation made them the perfect partner for us,” says Kwame AI co-founder Victor Kumbol. “With their support, we’re confident we can empower even more learners with the power of AI.”

Applications for Google for Startups Growth Academy: AI for Education are now open to startups in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Interested EdTech startups can apply before May 24, 2024.
