Canadian rapper Drake announced on Friday that he is taking a break from music to focus on recurring stomach issues. The announcement came just hours after the release of his latest album, “For All The Dogs.”
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit, I’m gonna be honest,” Drake said on his SiriusXM radio show, “Table For One.” “I need to focus on my health first and foremost… I need to get right.”
Drake explained that he has been experiencing stomach problems for years. “I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he said.
It is unclear how long Drake’s break from music will last. He mentioned that he would meet unspecified commitments, but otherwise said he would be “locking the door in the studio for a little bit.”
Drake’s upcoming concert dates in Toronto on Friday and Saturday are still scheduled to go ahead.
Fans have sent their well wishes to Drake on social media, wishing him a speedy recovery.
