A police inspector was killed and a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) sustained serious injury while enforcing the ban on commercial motorcycles in parts of Lagos State.
The incident occurred at Cele bus-stop, where the police officers were attacked by motorcycle riders. Two suspects were arrested, and 41 motorcycles were impounded.
The Lagos State Government had banned okada in six local government areas and extended it to four more states from June 1, 2022.
The police command urged citizens to abide by the laws, warning that any attack on police officers would no longer be tolerated.
