Troops from the Nigerian Army’s One Mechanised Division have eliminated five bandits during a clearance operation in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations of One Division, the operation was aimed at incapacitating the bandits and creating an environment conducive for economic and legitimate activities.

The operation was conducted along Kanti-Tantatu Road in Kubusu Forest and Kaso Hills, and lasted for several hours.

The troops recovered four AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, and 24 rounds of 7.62 mm calibre during the operation, as well as three motorcycles, one machete, two handsets, and some charms.
