The Advocacy for Social Right Advancement and Development Initiative (ASRADI) has written to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court seeking clarification over the transfer of its case, marked Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/2197/2022, from Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon to another judge.
ASRADI is seeking an order to compel the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for alleged perjury.
The group claimed that Tinubu lied about his educational qualifications when he submitted information to the Independent National Electoral Commission. Justice Olajuwon had adjourned the matter to February 16, 2023, but the group was informed on March 27 that the case had been transferred to another judge.
In the letter to the Chief Judge, ASRADI expressed concern that the transfer may create the impression that “some animals are more equal than others” and urged the Chief Judge to use his good offices to remedy the situation if necessary.
