During a Channels Television interview on Monday, Orji Kalu, the Chief Whip of the Senate, claimed that Bola Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has the necessary support to win the presidential election.

Kalu also stated that the governors of Rivers and Abia states, Nyesom Wike and Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively, who are members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and part of the G5 group of PDP governors, will back Tinubu.

According to Kalu, Tinubu is popular in the north and is a competent administrator. He further argued that the APC has a larger number of members and supporters than the PDP, making the party well-positioned for victory.

He added that the south-east region of the country would also vote for Tinubu because they believe his presidency would promote a free market.
