Georgetown, Guyana – Guyanese Foreign Minister Hugh Hilton Todd met today with representatives from the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP).
The delegation, led by Senegalese Ambassador and CEIRPP Chair Cheikh Niang, is on a two-day visit to Guyana. Other members include Cuban Ambassador and CEIRPP Vice Chair Ernesto Soberon Guzman, Palestinian Permanent Observer to the UN Riyad Mansour, CEIRPP Secretary Patrice Chiwota, and UN Resident Representative to Guyana Yesim Oruc.
The CEIRPP, established by the UN General Assembly in 1975, advocates for the rights of the Palestinian people. The nature of their discussions with Guyanese officials is not yet public.
